![]() The content in Section 3 presents a path through important discussions that were pursued during the Workshop. Significant action items, recommendations, and comments that came out of the meeting are contained in Section 3. The topics addressed during the workshop are contained in the agenda (Section 4). ARM management will consider these recommendations in their future planning and prioritization activities. Their recommendations appear italicized in the report. This report documents recommendations made by members of the science community who attended more » the workshop. Approximately 40 participants were present a detailed list of participants is listed in Section 5. The 6th DOE ARM Radar Engineering and Radar Science Workshop was held October 24-26, 2017, at Stony Brook University. The overarching objective of the workshop is to maximize the usage of ARM radar data for improving our understanding of processes and, ultimately improving representation of clouds and precipitation in models. The Radar Science Group and Radar Engineering and Operations Group meet regularly along with researchers and users from the community in a workshop. In addition, scanning cloud radars are relatively new in the community, with very limited products that are mature enough to be applied for modeling studies. The two groups work closely for planning, coordination, and communications to produce high-quality observations and products from the ARM radar network, which consists of complex radars deployed in very challenging environments. The radar organization consists of two groups: Radar Science and Radar Engineering and Operations. Department of Energy (DOE) Atmospheric Radiation Measurement (ARM) Climate Research Facility’s radar organization was formed to provide an integrated approach to meet the scientific objectives of ARM. To make ring topologies full-duplex you would need to have two connections between network nodes to form a Dual Ring Topology. The U.S. Ring topologies are half-duplex but can also be made full-duplex. Within this topology, one node is chosen to configure the network and monitor other devices. Devices that typically support SNMP include cable modems, routers, switches, servers, workstations, printers, and more. Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is an Internet Standard protocol for collecting and organizing information about managed devices on IP networks and for modifying that information to change device behavior. However using nmcli saves your time, gives you confidence, can use it in scripts and it’s the first tool to use in order to troubleshoot your Linux server networking and bring back rapidly its functionality. I have seen many administrators using nmtui for simplicity.
